As a resident of Downley, I would like to say what an excellent job the contractors do Keeping our green spaces in Downley neat and tidy I.e. Jubilee green and common side.

The gentleman we saw cutting jubilee green grass on Thursday obviously takes pride in his work. Well done to him

25th May   Annual meeting / receive reports from organisations


The Annual Parish Meeting takes place on Tuesday 25th May at 7 pm. and will be held at the Community Centre

You are invited to attend the meeting, meet your newly elected Parish Councillors, and ask questions or make comment on any matter which affects the village. 

 All residents are welcome to attend any of our meetings and there is always a slot near the start of the meeting for public questions.  These meetings start at 7:00 pm.

Street Lighting Update

We are pleased to say that a large project to replace all the sodium lights in Downley with LEDs has begun.  We are waiting for formal quotations to replace 117 lights.   17 lights have recentrly been replaced.              

We do realise that there are a number of street lights not working.  we ask you to bear with us for the work to be done.  Further information will be sent out as it is available.

Virus Update

Although we are still in a pandemic situation, we are now returning to meetings being held fact to face.  Meetings are open to members of the public.  however, remember that strict protocols will be observed.
