Kishor came to the UK from Uganda in 1973 and joined the department store Liberty of London in security. Over 27 years he worked his way up to Property Services Manager. Kishor, his wife Tara and their two children moved to Downley in 1997.

 

They bought a newsagent on Brindley Avenue. Over the last 20 years, Tara’s has consistently been awarded Top 100 convenience stores in the UK and won multiple national and local awards, including being recognised for Community Retailer of the year out of 52,000 local shops. In his spare time, Kishor is a community governor for The Disraeli School.

Kishor is Chairman of The Priory Avenue Surgery PPG and is a National Councillor for the National Federation of Retail Newsagents. You may also see Kishor walking their family dog, Shiv, around Downley.
