Downley Jubilee Allotments

The Downley Jubilee Allotments have been operating for over 30 years and are a valuable community asset for residents' leisure time.  The area is leased from the West Wycombe Estate to the Parish Council who, in turn, leases the plots to residents of the Parish.

The Allotments Committee manages the day-to-day running of the allotments and our Clerk oversees the tenancy agreements.

The allotments are located behind Mannings Field at the top of Downley Common. The postcode is HP13 5YD.

There are 52 plots, each measuring approximately 40 sq metres. Rents of £25 per annum are collected annually in April. A £50 deposit is required from new plot holders, only refundable if the plot is left in a tidy condition at the end of the plot holder's lease.

The main pathways between plots are cut throughout the year by our contractors.

The Downley Library

Downley Community Library was set up in 2004 under the umbrella of the Downley Old School Community Association.

We have an exceptional range of children's plus a full range of adult books, both fiction and non-fiction. In addition we have full broadband connection to the Internet with two computers available for use by the public for which there is no charge. Other items that may be of interest are a small stock of audio tapes and jigsaws. We also run a 'Story Time' for the Mothers & Toddlers group on Monday mornings.
