The Queen's Green Canopy

The Queen’s Green Canopy

As part of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year 2022/23, The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) was launched, encouraging us to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”. Downley Parish Council planted six young trees within the Parish in the following locations:

Beech: Gosling Grove, School Close & Turners Field

Silver Birch: Old Farm Road & Plomer Green Avenue

Hawthorn: Old Farm Road

Sandpits Pond

With support from the Parish Council, there is a group of local volunteers known as the Gosling Grovers who regularly give up their time to work on the pond situated within Gosling Grove.
